In my print “Vices,” I incorporated the idea of dream imagery with hypnagogic imagery. The piece defines my perspective on life. The overall design is to symbolize the deterioration of time when presented with large amounts of knowledge. Shadowed hands present an overwhelming amount of knowledge that encompasses both solitude and time. The three raven are symbolic of my personal three vices; desire (as into covet), revenge, and lust. These symbolic ravens are meant to impede the scheme of knowledge and time. These vices stop the creative process for me, as they stop the light of knowledge from shining in my piece. I used monochromatic styling for this piece to illustrate the stand still of motivation and creativity that vices can create.Thursday, October 2, 2008
